Here are the castor oil for labor induction reviews:

“Yes it worked!! Last week Wednesday, I was 38 weeks pregnant and my doctor did a membrane sweep on me. My dilation went from 1cm to 3cms and 80% effaced at the time. She told me I would be delivering in the next two days. 2 days later, no baby. So Saturday at 150pm I decided to try a castor oil shake: 2 oz castor oil, 2 large spoonfuls of ice cream, and milk. I held my nose and got down about half of the drink before I had to breath. I quickly followed it with a lemon and hot tea. I waited and 25 mins later I had my first contraction. W/I the next hour and a half my contractions ranged from 11 to 26 mins apart. So at 330pm I started bouncing on my yoga ball until 5pm; the entire time my contractions ranged from 2 to 4 minutes apart. I got to the hospital at 6pm and was 4cm dilated. I was giving pitocin at 7pm to make contractions more regular. I had a healthy baby at 0138am with no meconium issues. That was yesterday morning, now

I’m home with my baby and so glad I tried the Castor oil. I really believe it worked with a little help from the yoga ball!

Castor works…my due date was march 30th and I took 2.5 oz of castor oil at 11am with some cheesy pasta. It didn’t taste the best but I ate it. I went for a walk at 430 pm just one lap around apts. At 5:20pm my water broke and I started having mild contractions 5 min after. I was only 1cm dilated and 90%effaced but they admitted me because my water was broken. At 915 I was still only 1cm with extremely painful contractions. At 1015 I was dilated a full 10cm WOW. I had the urge to pudh but I had to wait for the doctor to come in…I pushed 3 times at 1036 and she came right out 7lbs 6oz at 1039pm. Labor pains were horrible but it was worth the five hours. First child too. (39 weeks 1 day)”

My suggestions

From reading around the web I have discovered success stories from those who have induced their labor from using castor oil. Others have experienced diarrhea and cramping and they did not have such an pleasant experience from using castor oil. The general consensus is that if you want to avoid severe diarrhea and cramping which are the side effects of using castor oil. Then I would suggest you mix castor oil with another beverage such as Orange juice and take it gradually over a period of time. Women who have done this routinely have experienced less side effects. A good mid wife or natural health doctor can write you a regimen that will fit your unique situation. If you want to purchase castor oil, the best kind is the virgin castor oil which contains no chemicals. It’s organic and contains the full nutrients, strength and benefits of castor oil.
